THE PROJECTS – festival of experimental comics and narrative arts / Portland
August 2, 2012 at 7:37 vormittags

its very interesting that in this DIY with this hype that there is still way to make the festival so big without big corporations using just Internet capabilities and what people are ready to pay for it …. If you are able to support the festival follow links.
THE PROJECTS is a festival of experimental comics and narrative arts, happening at the IPRC in Portland on October 19-21, 2012.
http://theprojectspdx.tumblr.com/
3 days of workshops, exhibitions, panels, performances, projections and collaborative projects. Introducing experimental artists from comics, animation, and other narrative arts.
The festival is a free event, oriented toward creative process, idiosyncratic expression, and inspiration, leaving behind the flat model of comics as commerce.
//////////////// THAY SAY:
Since we are committed to making The Projects free, we are depending on donations to cover the cash-dependent costs. We are a scrappy bunch and much of the festival will depend on the free and priceless ingenuity of organizers, guests, volunteers and participants in order to make this thing come alive. However, we are also dreaming of a festival that will reach beyond our immediate and local community and bring together amazing people from across the country and world.
We need cash donations in order to buy 3 international plane tickets (for Le Dernier Cri and Igor Hofbauer), 3 domestic plane tickets (for Matthew Thurber, Jonny Negron, Sammy Harkham, and hopefully to pitch in on others’ travel expenses), and for some of the materials that we can’t get through other means. We are grateful for ANY support you can offer!
Please, visit our Kickstater page and help us make this incredible project happen:
